I just spent the weekend with my family which has been very fun and always makes me feel like a kid again. While I was visiting I went on Etsy to look at vintage house wares because I have always loved second hand finds. I also find that it helps me with being inspired when it comes to my own projects.
Back to my family and why I love vintage things or antiques. One of the reasons I love vintage and antique things is because I had a Nana that never through anything out. Every time we went to visit it was like a treasure hunt. Also when I was five we moved into a big old house. My father being a nice guy told the elderly lady that lived in it before ‘Don’t worry about all your thing just leave whatever you can’t take and we will get rid of it for you.’ She took that very literally because when we moved in all she took was her bedroom things…that’s it. The cupboards and fridge even had food in them. This lady had raised her children there and lived in the house for years. Her children’s rooms were still the same with all there things still there. As a five year old child this was a huge adventure every drawer and cupboard had treasures in it.
