White Rabbit

 
I have been working on a new line of clutches that are embroidered with the original art of Alice in Wonderland. I am not very good at drawing so I got my husband to draw them using the original art work as a reference. Then I tried to draw them onto some cream linen and stitched them in. I am doing two runs one for Etsy and one for Gentille Alouette. There is going to be four different pictures they are of Alice with the bottle that says Drink Me. Mad Hatter talking and the poem twinkle twinkle little bat. The White Rabbit shown above and then Alice talking to the caterpillar. I am still working on them but they should be ready sometime next week.

 
 

  

Reading Pillow

I have been playing around with a new sewing idea. Awhile back I got my husband to draw a picture of a deer and an owl sitting in a tree and I made it into a purse for myself. This time I printed off a picture I liked and I stitched it onto a pillow. The picture I found is from

 the blog Inside A Black Apple and since me and my cousin both love her art I made the pillow for her. I just loved the quote:

There's more to life then books you know but not much more.

Now Im working on the original art work from Alice in Wonderland and Im going to make little clutches with the pictures stitched on them. I wouldn't really call this proper embroidery its more like my take on it. Its pretty fun so I think I am going to keep on doing it.

Good News...

One of my many sisters-in-law makes beautiful hairclips and sells them on Etsy and she also sells them in a few cute boutiques around town. I have been meaning to go with her and see if the owners would take some of my creations on. Since I never seemed to have the time to go my wonderful sister-in-law brought some of my little bags to Gentille Alouette. The owner liked them and they are now for sale there, yay I’m so excited. Hopefully in the next week I can go and finally meet the owner and see if there’s anything else she likes of mine.

In other good news I found some 1950s tortoise cats eye glasses on a cute Etsy vintage shop (seen above). I just bought them yesterday and I will be getting them in the next little bit yippee!

Leo Im late

 

While the Olympics were on here the art Gallery had a Leonardo da vinci exhibit. I really wanted to go because well...to actually see his work right there in front of me wow how cool. Sadly the idea of being in a large crowd of people scared me off. I guess because there was so much interest in the exhibit (well duh) they kept it on longer. So one day before it ended we finally went...talk about leaving things to the last minute. Like I thought it was going to be it was unbelievable to see his work so close up. Then we went to a friends house to watch the game and have dinner it was a great day. Then I went to sleep and woke up to the phone ringing I had slept though my alarm again. I normally wake up for work around 4:15am so I can get a coffee then be at work before 5am. My co-worker phoned at 5:20am so I was 45 mins late. That sucks and normally most people wouldn't be to happy if you show up that late. My job is a little different if Im late then the bread will proof to much and fall or be really huge and so on. This morning was a blur of my trying to catch up to all the bread rising. I survived and I was more mad at myself then my boss who by the way is the greatest guy. I just love my job so I am now going to have two alarms set so I am never late again.
